Social Media Manager

The Role
At Syrup, the Social Media Manager owns the day-to-day reality of how our clients show up on social. You’re not just posting content, you’re shaping perception, building momentum, and turning strategy into scroll-stopping execution.
This role is hands-on and high-ownership. You’ll plan, create, schedule, engage, analyze, and iterate, collaborating closely with design and our Head of Brand to bring brand strategy, voice, and visuals to life across platforms. You’ll be trusted to run point on social while knowing when to pull others in to make the work sharper, stronger, and more effective.

Experience qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience managing social media accounts (agency or freelance experience is strongly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
This Social Media Manager role is based in Atlanta, with a hybrid setup: remote work, one in-office day per month, and occasional in-person collaboration.
Required skills
- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone, voice, and messaging across different brands
- Hands-on experience creating and managing content across platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
- Comfort with social scheduling, analytics, and reporting tools (native platform tools and/or tools like HeyOrca, etc.)
- Design and video skills (Canva, Figma, Adobe tools, CapCut, or similar)
- Ability to turn analytics into insights, not just reports, but clear recommendations
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and content calendars at once
- Curiosity and trend awareness, you pay attention to what’s happening on social and why it works
- Coachable mindset with the ability to take feedback, apply it quickly, and improve
- Confidence in owning your work while collaborating closely with cross-functional teammates

Responsibilities
- Own the feed: From strategy and brainstorming to building calendars and distributing content across multiple client accounts.
- Partner with the team: Collaborate with the Head of Brand and design team to ensure every post aligns with broader marketing efforts and maintains high-quality visual standards.
- Maximize content: Remix larger pieces of content (blog posts, interviews, webinars, podcasts, etc.) into different media types to get the most mileage out of every idea.
- Drive engagement: Don’t just post and ghost. Manage communities, respond to comments, and spark meaningful conversations that position clients as thought leaders.
- Report with conviction: Own the reporting process. Distill impressions and followers into what that actually means for the client’s growth.
- Be a quality gatekeeper: Perform the final check on all assets, no typos, no broken links, and zero tone-deaf content.
- Stay on the pulse: Monitor competitors, industry trends, and platform shifts to identify opportunities, avoid sameness, and keep our clients three steps ahead of the noise.
- Execute with precision: If it’s on the calendar, it gets published. You own the cadence and the consistency of the brand’s digital heartbeat.

- Growth & Engagement: Increasing engagement rates and follower counts across client accounts through consistent, high-quality posting.
- Creative Proactivity: Bringing fresh, data-backed ideas and experiments to the table before the client (or the team) even thinks to ask.
- Strategic Ownership: Developing a level of expertise where clients trust your recommendations and rely on your voice to lead their social strategy.
- Content Efficiency: Demonstrating the ability to maximize a single piece of long-form content into a wide array of high-performing social assets.
