Syrup marketing privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Syrup Marketing (“Syrup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit syrupmarketing.com (the “Site”) or otherwise interact with us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at info@syrupmarketing.com.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few different ways:
Information you give us directly. When you fill out a contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise reach out to us, we may collect:
- First and last name
- Contact information (email address, phone number)
- Company information (company name, website)
- Any other information you choose to include in a message to us
Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we (and the tools described below) automatically collect certain information about your visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and the dates and times of your visits.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request
- Maintain internal records
- Improve our website, services, and marketing
- Send you our newsletter and occasional promotional emails about our services, content, or events (only if you’ve opted in)
- Customize your experience of the Site based on your interests
- Detect and prevent spam and abuse (see reCAPTCHA below)
We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. That said, some state privacy laws (such as California’s CCPA/CPRA) define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to cover using third-party advertising tools — like the Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag — for retargeting and interest-based ads, even with no payment involved. See Cookies and Tracking Technologies below for the advertising tools we use and how to opt out.
Cookies & tracking technologies
Like most websites, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels and tags) to operate the Site and understand how it’s used. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser.
We use these technologies for the following purposes:
Essential/functional cookies. Required for the Site to work properly, such as remembering form entries or security settings.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use our Site — which pages are popular, how visitors found us, and how we can improve the experience. Google may use this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
Advertising and retargeting. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and to show you relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn based on your visit to our Site. These providers may also use this information for their own purposes in accordance with their privacy policies.
Email and marketing automation. If you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a form, we use an email marketing/automation platform to send communications and track engagement (such as opens and clicks) so we can improve our content.
Spam prevention. Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which analyzes visitor behavior to prevent spam and abuse. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Your cookie choices
Most web browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Because each browser is different, check your browser’s “Help” menu for instructions, or visit allaboutcookies.org for general guidance. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Please note that blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site function.
Website visitor identification
In addition to the cookies and pixels described above, we use website visitor identification technology that matches visitor data (such as IP address) with publicly available business databases. This allows us to see which companies have visited our Site. This technology identifies the visiting company, not a specific individual.
How we share information
As noted above, we do not sell your information for money, though our use of advertising pixels may count as “sharing” under some state laws. We may also share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate our business, such as our customer relationship management platform (Pipedrive), website hosting provider, email marketing platform (MailChimp), and analytics/advertising providers listed above. These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety purposes if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Syrup, our clients, or others.
Third-party links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites (including our social media profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook). This Privacy Policy applies only to syrupmarketing.com. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
Our Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Controlling your personal information
You can control how we use your information:
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
- Adjust cookie settings in your browser as described above.
- Email us at info@syrupmarketing.com to request that we remove your information from our records or answer any questions about how your data is used.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
