The Role
Here at Syrup, the Designer shapes how our clients’ brands come to life across every touchpoint, from identity systems and websites to campaigns and digital experiences. Yes, you make things look good, but more importantly, you are solving business problems through design, connecting creative decisions to strategy, audience, and real client goals.
This role is both big-picture and detail-obsessed. You’ll lead design direction from the earliest stages, setting the strategic approach, exploring new visual territory, and owning execution through delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with strategy, content, development, and account teams to build creative that’s intentional, integrated, and impossible to ignore. You’ll be trusted to run point on design while knowing how to guide clients and teammates through the “why” behind your work.

Experience qualifications
3-5 years of experience in:
- Leading multidisciplinary design projects across brand, web, and digital (agency or B2B experience preferred)
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including strategy, social, content, development, and account leads
- Delivering thoughtful, on-brand design across multiple platforms, from brand identity to websites to marketing campaigns
- Giving and receiving constructive feedback that sharpens the work and strengthens the team
This Designer role is based in Atlanta, with a hybrid setup: remote work, one in-office day per month, and occasional in-person collaboration.
Required skills
- Strong conceptual thinking with a strategic, brand-aligned mindset
- Ability to lead design strategy from kickoff to delivery with clarity and confidence
- Mastery of core design principles, typography, layout, hierarchy, color, and digital usability
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (motion/prototyping tools a plus)
- Ability to clearly communicate the why behind creative decisions, connecting design to business goals and client needs
- Strong organization and time management across multiple concurrent projects
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams
- Resourceful and proactive, able to identify roadblocks, push through creative challenges, and bring fresh ideas to the table
- Openness to leveraging new tools (especially AI) to improve quality and efficiency

Responsibilities
- Lead design direction across multiple client projects, especially in the early phases, shaping both the strategic approach and visual execution.
- Collaborate across disciplines (strategy, content, development, and account teams) to build creative that solves real business problems.
- Understand the client deeply, their business, product, audience, and goals, and design with that insight front and center.
- Present with clarity, communicating the rationale behind your work and guiding the account team/clients through feedback and iteration.
- Bring fresh thinking to every phase of the creative process, identifying opportunities, pushing through roadblocks, and elevating the work.
- Leverage tools (especially AI) to streamline workflows, eliminate creative bottlenecks, and stay focused on high-impact design.
- Contribute to Syrup’s creative standards by sharing inspiration, refining internal systems, and helping raise the bar on craft and consistency.
- Delegate work to and direct contractors, vendors and/or junior designers (when applicable) with constructive and clear feedback while still owning and ensuring a high-quality output that meets or exceeds design standards established.
- Maintain brand consistency while simultaneously pushing and elevating the brand. Should be able to balance both recognizing the guidelines, without being constrained by them.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies to keep our work fresh, innovative, and cutting-edge while still relevant to our unique clients and their audiences.
